I came to Port Lincoln for one reason, and one reason only. For about 10 years, I’ve wanted to cage dive with great white sharks, and this is one of the best places for it.

It was about a two and a half hour boat ride from Port Lincoln to Neptune Island, which is where the sharks are.
The crew pushed the cage off the boat and threw a few cups of blood and fish guts into the water, and within a few minutes, the first shark had shown up.

It wasn’t long and a few more showed up…a total of eight came by throughout the day to get some free lunch

Once a few sharks had shown up, and the first group of people got into the cage, they started throwing out tuna carcass for the sharks. They had the fish on a rope, so as the sharks would try to eat them, they’d give them a quick pull, just to make the sharks work a bit.

Ok, now onto my favorite shots…while I was in the cage

  1. Wow, that cage diving must have been just awesome in real life! You’ve covered a lot of ground in Australia in a short time! How much more time will you be there? Enjoy!
