From Sydney, I headed north to Beaudesert, which isn’t far from Brisbane. I had some route recommendations which turned out to be great…some nice paved roads, with a good amount of dirt added into the mix, and even a few river crossings.

I got back into Darwin a few days ago, and was thrilled to see that my new sprocket had arrived. I picked up the parts, and ended up getting a new front tire as well, (which I’ll change in the next few days, as I don’t think my current one will make it to Perth) then headed west first thing the next morning.

11/15/2013 – 134 days/14082 miles
After two days in Albania, I consider myself a total expert, and I’m a bit torn between the two extremes of the place. The views of the mountains, and the riding in them was great…from 2nd gear on dirt and loose gravel, to 3rd gear on twisty paved roads with very unpredictable and frequent changes in quality (just to keep things exciting), to 6th gear, wide open, 100+mph riding on an empty highway without so much as a crack in the pavement. Every mile was astounding…and I even had a 3 hour ferry ride on a beautiful lake in the mountains.
