Much like the previous week of riding, the last day of riding to Uluru has been flat, straight, and pretty empty…and the whole time, I was getting more and more anxious, just waiting to see Uluru start showing up on the horizon…
And just when you’re about to lose your mind…there it is…

…wait…I don’t remember the pictures of Uluru making it look so mesa-like…

It’ll take two long days worth of riding to get up to Uluru, and Coober Pedy is right at the halfway point, and from what I’d heard, it is worth a visit anyway.
As you can see, the scenery on the way is rather Nullarbor-ish

I made a stop for a couple days in Fremantle, which is immediately south of Perth, and does a good job of making it feel like you aren’t in a place as big as Perth. I didn’t have time to do a whole lot, other than get some work done on the bike, and check out one of the museums in town. Oh, and I found this statue of Bon Scott.

I got back into Darwin a few days ago, and was thrilled to see that my new sprocket had arrived. I picked up the parts, and ended up getting a new front tire as well, (which I’ll change in the next few days, as I don’t think my current one will make it to Perth) then headed west first thing the next morning.
